The children in HACA’s School Sponsorship Program in Haiti are doing very well.  In spite of the gangs’ reign of terror downtown Port-au-Prince, and its paralyzing emotional impact on the whole country. The effort to keep life at Bellevue de la Montagne normal and meet our educational goals was successful.  Everyone is on alert to keep the area safe from crime.  All twenty-three children moved upward to higher grades.  Out of the long list of children waiting for help to go to school, we have admitted three.  Two of them are beneficiaries of donations from members of Saint Mark’s church in Teaneck. We thank you for your generosity.   With $550 per year, one can save the life of a child.  We at HACA are proud of this program.  We feel that it is building the future of Haiti one child at a time.  True to our mission, our goal is to help develop the whole child in order to form principled, righteous citizens.  As always, we thank the donors who make that program possible, especially Dr. Jane Matthews.

The Nurses for Hope Program

As you know, three of the five nursing students came to the US through President Biden's philanthropic program.  We are happy they had this incredible opportunity. As serious and motivated as they are, we are sure they will be successful in pursuing their dream of working in the medical field in the United States. They are a source of pride and hope for their families. The other two students are doing their internship. When school starts in November, one will move up to her third year while the other will be in her fourth and final year. We have a list of capable young ladies who hope to get into this program.  Fortunately, the cost has remained $2,000 per year which makes growing this program affordable.

HACA'S Food Service Program:

Food scarcity is a constant concern in Haiti. We had stopped the program for lack of Funds. We are planning a distribution in December 2024 thanks to a $5,000.00 donation which motivates us to continue to work on raising the balance of $7,000 necessary to do this important project.  Prices have gone up astronomically because of insecurity and inflation. We are grateful to you and count on your support to keep this vital program running. Please help us raise the $7,000 needed to serve over 500 families of at least 5 members who are currently waiting for our help.
